How to Save on Haircuts Without Switching Barbers

A $50 cut every four weeks adds up to $650 a year or more, before a beard trim. You can cut that cost without leaving your barber or our shop.

I'm Alex, a barber and the owner of House of Shaves since 2015. Below are four ways to save that help you and your barber at the same time. You spend less, and your barber keeps a client they love.

1. Join a membership

If you already come in every month, a membership is the easiest way to save. You pay a set amount monthly, and every visit costs less than full price.

Why we offer it: barbershop traffic is unpredictable, and members give us steady monthly revenue. We're happy to trade a discount for that. Your barber earns the same on a member's cut as on a full-price one, so nobody loses.

We have four membership options. Find them under Memberships at the top of our website.

2. Refer a friend

Every new client you send us earns you a $25 product credit, so any product $25 or under is free. Your friend gets $25 off their first visit when they mention you or use your referral code.

We'd rather reward our clients than spend that money on ads. Find the details under More > Referral Program on our website.

3. Get a free cut through our model program

Let us film your haircut for our YouTube channel, and the cut is on us. We get content that brings in new clients, and you get a free cut.

Big transformations work best on camera: a new style, or a cut after a long time away. Click Free Haircut on our website and fill out the short application. If it's a good fit, we'll reach out to schedule.

4. Book the service you actually need

In our shop, time is money. A simple one-length cut, like a number three guard all over with no fade, takes about 15 minutes. It costs about half our 30-minute, $50 classic cut. A quick lineup that only cleans up the edges also costs less.

Not sure which service fits? Call or message us before you book. If you book a 30-minute slot for a 15-minute job, your barber can't fill the rest of that time with another client.

Bonus tip: if your schedule is flexible, try a weekday. Weekends get packed, and almost everyone we ask prefers a calmer visit.

Save more, stay fresh

Prices are going up everywhere, but a great haircut doesn't have to mean switching barbers. Pick the option that fits you, and ask your barber about it at your next visit.
